Country
Each country is its own market with its own supply and demand. Prices differ significantly between countries.
There is no single price for an I-REC: it depends on six factors. Here is what drives it, so you can choose certificates that fit your goals and budget.
The short answer
Each I-REC proves 1 MWh of renewable electricity, but buyers value some attributes more than others. The country, technology, vintage, volume, plant and any ecolabel all shape the price.

Solar, wind, hydro and biomass are priced differently. Solar and wind from specific plants often cost more than large hydro.
The year the electricity was generated. Reporting standards require recent vintages, so current-year certificates are in higher demand.
Larger volumes usually get a lower price per certificate, and multi-year agreements can lock in a price.
Certificates from newer plants, or from a specific region or plant, carry a premium.
Certificates with the EKOenergy label meet extra sustainability criteria and cost slightly more.
