How it works

The journey of a renewable megawatt-hour

From a renewable power plant to proof your auditors can verify, in five steps.

Renewable electricity is generated
A renewable power plant generates electricity and delivers it to the grid.

Every MWh is measured
The plant's metered production is reported. Each megawatt-hour of renewable electricity can become one certificate.

An I-REC is issued
The local issuer, such as NORMEX in Mexico, issues a certificate with a unique serial number, the plant, the technology and the production date.

Redeemed in your name
We redeem the certificate on your company's behalf. It is retired forever, so nobody else can ever claim that MWh.

Proof you can verify
You receive the official redemption statement with a QR code, ready for your auditors and for CDP or RE100 reporting.
